Isadora - Figure-Flattering Two-Piece

For over thirty years, we were nurses — the kind of job where you sit on the edge of a bed and say the true thing kindly. We met in second grade, one desk over. We've been best friends ever since.

On our days off, we'd drive around looking at little clothing shops. We rarely bought anything. We just loved the feeling of them — the racks, the light, the woman behind the counter who knew your name.

Every October, we went up to Muskoka. Somewhere along that last stretch of road, we'd finally slow down. And every year, we said the same word to each other: someday.

Then one day, a little shop came up for sale. We called that same afternoon. That was six wonderful years ago.

Now, at sixty-six and sixty-eight, it's time to retire.

Not because something went wrong.

Because something went beautifully right — and we're wise enough to know when a story has reached its ending.

We never once put anything on sale. This is our first — and our last.
